Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty Labiaplasty often helps to recontour, reshape, and rejuvenate the labia majora and labia minora. It is not an uncommon condition for some women to have enlarged, elongated, or asymmetrical labia major or labia minora. An enlarged labia can lead to self-consciousness when wearing certain clothing that makes the condition more noticeable. Some women may also have discomfort while wearing tight pants, exercising, or during sexual intercourse and other activities. They may also experience some general irritation and chafing.

Labiaplasty procedures can improve the shape, size, and symmetry of the labia major and labia minora. Some common procedures that are done include Labia Majora Reduction, which removes excess tissue on the labia majora, or the outer lips of the vulva. Labia Minora Reduction removes excess tissue affecting the labia minor, or the inner lips of the vulva, followed by some reshaping of the tissue. Another procedure, Clitoral Hood Reduction, involves removing excess tissue over the clitoris and can be combined with the two other labiaplasty procedures.

In addition, adding volume through fat grafting or injectable dermal fillers like juvederm can help to rejuvenate the labia majora and labia minora. Some labiaplasty procedures can be done in the office under local anesthesia, depending on the aesthetic goals of the patient and the degree of correction desired.
