Botox Newport Beach

BotoxBotox is a neuromodulator that helps soften facial lines, wrinkles, and furrows. This non-surgical injectable treatment can help to rejuvenate your face with minimal downtime and quick recovery.

How Does Botox Work?

Over time, active facial muscles create facial lines. Botox, which is made of the neurotoxin botulinum type A, works by relaxing these facial muscles, thus softening forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet, fine lines around the eyes, and more. The effects of Botox usually lasts for three to four months or longer, and we perform Botox injections in a pleasant, convenient office setting.

Can Botox Be Combined with Other Treatments?

Botox is often used in combination with fillers which help to fill in deeper facial lines and wrinkles. Botox is also used sometimes in conjunction with facial rejuvenation surgery to minimize the progression of existing facial lines or wrinkles or the creation of new ones.

Before Your Botox Treatment

During your consultation with Dr. Chen, she will examine your face and determine the areas where she will inject Botox. She will likely ask you about your medical history, any medications you take, and if you’ve had any previous surgeries or treatments.

You should stop taking NSAIDs before you get Botox injections, as these medications may increase the risk of bleeding. Common NSAIDs include ibuprofen and aspirin. If you have any questions about Botox before your treatment, be sure to ask Dr. Chen during your personalized consultation.

The Procedure

Dr. Chen will mark the areas on your face where you will receive your Botox treatment. She may apply a topical anesthetic before administering your injections. Then, using a very fine microneedle, Dr. Chen will inject Botox into the targeted areas.

This procedure is typically referred to as a “lunchtime procedure” because of the short length of time it takes. Generally, Botox injections take less than thirty minutes to complete.

Downtime and Results

There is no recovery period and very little downtime after receiving Botox injections. You may experience pain, bruising, redness, and/or swelling at the injection sites; however, these minor side effects are completely normal and usually subside within a few days. You can return to your normal daily activities after getting Botox injections.

Typically, you will start to see results anywhere from four to ten days after your treatment, and results can last from three to four months.

Cost of Botox

The cost of this treatment depends on a few variables, like the amount of product used, how many injections you receive, and other various factors. If you have any questions about the price of this procedure, be sure to ask Dr. Chen during your consultation and she will be happy to give you an estimate.
